由于发生水肿和纤维化，肠壁变厚、变硬，部分强直，粘膜萎缩并有多处溃疡，直径为2-50mm不等。光镜下可见纤维化和粘膜下水肿，肌层萎缩，整个增厚的肠壁内都可发现虫体。三其他病变：本虫幼虫在肺内移行时，可引起肺脏毛细血管充血、出血、毛细支气管上皮细胞脱落，炎性渗出物中可查到幼虫。如果幼虫的肺肠停留时间过久而发育为成虫，则多数形成粟样大小的肺脓疡。丝状蚴在体内移行时，亦可侵入其他，如心内膜，肝脏、卵巢、肠系膜淋巴结及脑等处，并有肉芽肿形成。大头金蝇别名红头蝇、绿虫蝇，成虫体长8～11毫米，绿蓝色、有明显光泽，头部宽，顶部黑色，复眼大，深红色，额中条褐红色，颜和颊部橙黄色；触角和小颚须呈褐色；胸腹部绿色偏蓝，有紫色光泽，幼早成熟时，身体蛆形，为黄白色，前端尖细，末端截平。体分14节，头部1节，3节，腹部10节，体表有小棘形成的环；蛹呈桶状，为围蛹，即蛹壳为第3龄幼虫皮收缩而成。蛹的颜色由白逐渐变深，zui后为栗褐色。家蝇（Musca demestica）是家蝇属（Musca），是*昆虫，其生活史包括卵、幼虫（蝇蛆）、蛹、成虫（苍蝇）四个阶段，共需12～15天。成年雌蝇刚排出的卵很小，1克卵有13000个左右，当温度在25℃、相对湿度70%时，孵化期为12小时。刚孵出的幼虫为灰白色、怕光，在饲料表层下2～10厘米处活动、采食，生长速度极快，4～5天有1厘米长、重约30毫克，开始化蛹。
